The information below is from the OSPI website
About MSP
The Measurements of Student Progress (MSP) is the state’s new assessment in grades 3-8 for reading, writing, math, and science. The MSP is aligned to Washington’s learning standards and is designed to inform families, students, and educators of academic progress made over time. The MSP will be the first assessment Washington uses for online testing. For more information on state testing in Washington, visit www.WAtesting.com.
About Online Delivery (for the MSP)
In spring 2010, Washington will begin transitioning its assessment program to be delivered online. We will begin with about 25 percent of the students in grades 6-8 taking the MSP reading and math tests online. During the next few years, online testing will include additional grades and a higher percentage of students. The software and delivery system for online testing is being provided by the state’s testing contractor, Data Recognition Corporation (DRC), in collaboration with Computerized Assessments and Learning (CAL). Demo and tutorial products are available to provide hands-on experience to anyone interested in learning more about online testing in Washington.
