Do the math — Common Core = a massive, risky experiment on your kids
October 6, 2013
“Hidden in Common Core is the real objective – presenting the minimal amount of material that high-school graduates need to be able to enter the work force in an entry-level job.”
Dr. James Millgram and Emmet McGroarty have been examining the Common Core State Standards and have been speaking out against them. This article points out flaws in the math standards, but there are problems with the English Language Arts standards as well.
Since math is a subject in which right and wrong answers are so clear and indisputable, it is often used to point out flaws in the curriculum. Flaws in the other subjects exist, but are easier to mask when it comes to subjects like  literature or social studies. Mr. Millgram and Mr. McGroarty’s point is that these “college and career” Common Core State Standards are designed to prepare students for community colleges and lower level jobs.
