Texas Kicks Out Liberal Bias From Textbooks

“……In most states, the liberal education establishment enjoys total control over the state’s board of education, department of education, and curriculum committees. Texas is different; the Texas State Board of Education is elected, and the people (even including parents!) have a voice……”

Here in Washington, our situation is different—better. We have a little more local control. Local school districts make textbook adoption decisions. However, since textbook companies understandably cater to the big markets…Texas and California…which make statewide textbook adoptions, Washingtonians and the other states must purchase textbooks that are predominantly written for Texas and California. For this reason, this development in Texas has a wide-reaching effect.
